This was to familiarize myself with the feeling of wearing handcuffs and locate the keyhole, and was also to gauge how long the air inside the bag could be breathed. The results were promising: I lasted about three minutes in the first two attempts, and in the third time, with a little push, I approached nearly four minutes. Should be enough time for me to unlock the handcuffs, right? The challenge began! In the first round, the key to the handcuffs was placed on the corner of a table. Wasn’t this a bit too easy? Carefully stepping ahead, turning, half crouching, I touched the corner of the table with my hands behind my back, and then I found the key. Unlocking was not a difficult task as I was already familiar with the keyhole position. So, after being sealed in the bag for two minutes, I freed myself. In the second round, the key was thrown on the ground, and I was directed to come over, sit down and search it. Darn, where’s the key? I didn’t have time to think too much and desperately pulled the key down. After this moment, my stamina was almost exhausted, the oxygen inside the bag was almost depleted, and the pervasive carbon dioxide made me suffer. My body couldn’t hold on anymore; I could only slowly slide down against the glass wall of the stairs and sit on the ground. Well, we’ve just received new prototypes, and this time Xiaomeng was eager to try them out first. We started with the first item. It was very similar to the valve mask—essentially a medical face mask combined with a threaded connector. This connector, instead of a valve, makes it easy to attach a hose or a rebreather bag. I connected it to a hose and a bubbler bottle, but oops! I had forgotten that a bubbler only works with one-way valves. When Xiaomeng exhaled, she ended up pushing a lot of water out through the inlet. At least this mishap confirmed the airtightness of the mask! We then moved on to testing it with a rebreathing bag, where the true capability of this new item became evident. Before long, Xiaomeng was breathless and completely exhausted. The second prototype was a latex face cover. It was a curved latex sheet designed to be secured over the face with six straps. Once properly fixed in place, it prevented Xiaomeng from inhaling any air, although she could still exhale. This caused her air reserve to deplete rapidly, leading to panic very quickly. In the end, we concluded that while the prototypes still need some tweaks, they are already highly effective in achieving their intended purpose!     33 minutes    		  Xiaoyu and Her New Breathplay Hoods - Xiaoyu received two new breathplay hoods. The first one is a classic black/semitransparent one with a small air bag but no breathing hole. It is made-to-measure so is very tight on her: not only tight around her neck, but also over her entire head except for her face, thus creating a very good seal to the air bag. In the first scene she was wearing this hood and doing exercise following Will Liu’s workout “Chinese Herbal Manual”. Well, it supposed to be a strenuous aerobics, but apparently for hooded Xiaoyu this became anaerobic. She can’t keep doing it for long and halfway of both attempts she collapsed on the ground. In the first time she can still remove the hood by herself, but in the second time she was so dizzy that she just lay on the ground gasping for the stale air inside the hood and didn’t know what to do to save herself. I had to remove the hood for her. The second breathplay hood is nontransparent and has a bigger air bag but also no breathing hole. Xiaoyu was wearing this one in the second scene. She was asked to find a pair of scissors with her wrapped fists. She tried twice. Although the hood is bigger and she can stay much longer, it was still a difficult task as she can’t see or use her fingers freely. Can she succeed? The last scene is classic. Xiaoyu was bound, sitting on a chair and rebreathing the air inside the hoods until she reached her limit. She wore the big hood once and the small one four times. In this part of the video you can realize how tight the small hood is: When she was gasping for air, you can see how the hood expanded like a balloon when she breathed out, and also how the air bag was sucked deep inside her mouth when she tried to breathe in. Don’t miss her cute tongue moves! The ending is dramatic. She collapsed again and went to the edge of blackout. I had to remove the hood for her again, since she obviously can’t do that by herself anymore. Don’t worry. She was quite happy and satisfied about this breathplay session.
